SHILLONG: A delegation of elders of the Guresimram village in North Garo Hills district recently met the Deputy Commissioner of the East Garo Hills district, Williamnagar and apprised him of the matters connected with the construction of the SSA school building at their village Guresimram.

In their memorandum to the DC, the delegation complained that the SSA building is being constructed inside the homestead land owned by the mother of Nolinton Sangma which is illegal and against the will and decision of the villagers of Guresimram village.

The public locality of the mentioned village questioned the authorities about the circumstances leading to the construction of the SSA school building on the individually owned land about which the public expressed their strong disappointment.

Meanwhile, they had mentioned that the DC has assured the delegation to inquire into the matter at the earliest.

It may be noted that an amount of Rs Seven Lakhs have been sanctioned by the Government for the construction of the SSA school building at the Guresimram village during 2010-2011.

The villagers on the other hand have alleged that this amount is being misutillised by Nolinton Sangma in connivance with the authorities for their own personal gains.
