Tuki calls party workers to work unitedly

Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki on Thursday called upon the Congress party workers to be united by ignoring all petty differences for strengthening the party and also for speedy development of the state.

Delivering his address in a function, organised by Doimukh circle Block Congress Committee on the occasion of successful completion of one year after assuming charge as Chief Minister held at Rono Field at Doimukh, Mr Tuki thanked UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for extending their confidence to choose him for the chief ministership’s post.

‘I will try to maintain the responsibility what they have given to me and will also try to achieve all the developmental activities initiated by the government with the help of other leaders and party workers at different level,’ Mr Tuki stated.

He said,’ the people of the state are very much fond of Nehru and Gandhi family, that’s why its reflection we can see in election because since 1986 only Congress has formed government in the state.

Congratulating deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia for sanctioning Rs 2535 core annual budget for the year 2012-13, the Chief Minister said with this amount, his government will work for the betterment of the people in the state.

He said his government was considering construction of administrative reform policy for providing a transparent administration in each and every department so that the fund is not misused.

Highlighting a few initiatives which were initiated in current Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the period of 2012-13 by his government were – Chief Minister’s universal health insurance scheme for providing health insurance to poor people for critical illness, agriculture mechanism programme for providing 50 per cent subsidy to poor and marginal farmers.

Skill development programme for unemployed youths, livelihood mission school to channelise and promote energies of youth, Paryatan Vikash Yojana for subsidy to unemployed youths, disability pension scheme, for tea and rubber cultivation and amount of Rs 3 and 2 crores respectively has been allocated are among others.

He further informed that this government has been kept aside an amount of Rs 3 crore for health insurance scheme which will start very soon and necessary directives have been issued to the departments concerned,

To avoid traffic congestion in these twin capital cities of Itanagar and Naharlogun, his government has been considering construction of metro cable car and flyovers in some selected locations, he said.

Mr Tuki informed that his government has also given directives to the department concerned for construction of cement concrete roads by replacing existing black topped road in the state capital as well as the district headquarters.

Acknowledging memorandum submitted by the people of Doimukh, he assured the people for taking up the issue into next cabinet meeting for upgradation of Doimukh circle headquarters into an EAC headquarters. (UNI)
