One shot at in Nartiang

 JOWAI: One person identified as Ialam Shylla of Wahaijer village was allegedly shot at by unknown miscreant at a paddy field in Nartiang area on Monday afternoon.

Sources informed that Shylla is a supporter of Hillarius Dkhar, JHADC MDC and one of the aspiring candidate for the Assembly election 2013.

According to sources, Shylla had gone to his paddy field at Nartiang for harvesting. While returning from the fields a gun shot was fired which hit him. He was rushed to Nartiang PHC but since the doctor was undering training elsewhere they later shifted him to KJPA Hospital.

“He suffer injuries on his right hand, thigh and stomach,” one of his relative said.

Reliable sources also informed that on September 25, unknown miscreants had vandalized his vehicle (Maruti van) parked on the road side at a forest area in Nartiang.

“His family was also threatened by unknown people from Wahiajer village several times and in this regard, Shylla has also lodged a complaint with the Police,” sources said.

Rangbah shnong of Wahiajer village, Kmen Shylla informed that he was not aware of the incident since he had left his village on Sunday to attend the North East Festival.

Meanwhile, people in Wahiajer village informed that they had heard about the incident but could not confirm what had really happened.

Meanwhile, Hillarius Dkhar informed that Shylla is under treatment at KJPA Hospital, Jowai.

“Shylla is my strong supporter and I was informed that he was shot by some unidentified persons,” Dkhar said.

“I can’t say what had really happened but I was informed that some unknown miscreants shot at him and now he is under medical care at the hospital,” he added.
