Guwahati: Reaffirming that there is not divide between him and Arvind Kejriwal, veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare on Wednesday said that he will urge public to support people like Kejriwal and send ‘good people’ to the Parliament.

“I will support Arvind (Kejriwal) and I will in fact ask other people to send Arvind and other such good people to the Parliament, ” Mr Hazare said. He clarified once again that there was no division between him and Mr Kejriwal after the latter decided to float a political party and added that he had met Mr Kejriwal on Tuesday also.

“Our goals are the same, though our roads may be different. We will not fight among ourselves, ” the anti-corruption crusader said. Mr Hazare also added that his agitation was not against politics but was an attempt to set the wrong things right.

” Not every politician is bad and we are not opposed to politics. But we want to set the house in order and reaffirm the power of Janshakti to keep the politicians on their toes, ” he said.

He pointed that the Right to Reject was an important tool in keeping out ‘goons’ from the Parliament and hence, it formed one of the priority demands of his agitation.

Mr Hazare said he will not rest till the Jan Lokpal Bill, as framed by his supporters, is brought in the Parliament and asked the people to brace for a long battle.

Hazare said he will resume his indefinite fast once again if needed.

“The government has lied to me and made me call off my Ramlila Maidan fast. I will now place before the people how the government had deceived me,” he said.

Mr Hazare arrived here on Wednesday to participate in a protest meet, organised former Team Anna member and RTI activist Akhil Gogoi and his team in support of a host of demands, including land rights, environmental safeguards and detection and deportation of foreigners. (UNI)
