Wine Festival

The 10th Shillong Wine Festival will be organised at Crinoline Swimming Pool on November 10 from 1pm onwards. New varieties of fruit wines will be sold for the first time. The Colours band will perform at the Festival.

B’deshis held

The BSF in Hangaria, East Khasi Hills on Thursday apprehended nine Bangladeshi illegal immigrants, all hailing from Sylhet district of Bangladesh. The immigrants were on their way to the Khliehriat coal mining area.

Workshop

The National Academy of Sciences (NASI), North East region local chapter, Shillong organised a two-day workshop for school teachers on ‘Aligning Instructional Design to Students Learning styles’ at NEHU recently. The programme exposed the participants to methodologies and strategies that can be effectively adopted in teaching Science and Mathematics at the school level. The inaugural programme was graced by the former NEHU Vice Chancellor Pramod Tandon.

Interactive prog

The Office of the Sub Divisional Public Relations Officer, Sohra organised a one-day special interactive programme on the theme ‘Water and its Preservation’ at Sohbar Ilaka on Wednesday. Officials from different Government departments attended the programme.

Free eye camp

The Meghalaya Youth Foundation in collaboration with Mission Trust, Bawri Nethralaya will be conducting a free eye check-up camp at Kynton-U-Mon, Nongkrem from 10:30 am onwards.
