Pele better after surgery

SAO PAULO: A Brazilian hospital says Pele is in good condition after surgery. Details were not released, but local media said on Tuesday that the football great had a hip operation.

A television channel said he is expected to be released soon. It wasn’t clear when he was admitted. Pele, who won three World Cup titles with Brazil and scored nearly 1,300 career goals, turned 72 in October. (AP)
