JOWAI: The Shillong Bench of Gauhati High Court granted an anticipatory bail to Darius Snieh, a junior engineer in PWD, and his two brothers in connection with a paddy-stealing case at Mookhnang and Lumstong, Nongjngi Elaka. Darius and his two brothers Opas Snieh and Head Snieh have been absconding since the paddy-stealing case came to light. Police so far arrested only one accused identified as Mar Snieh while his two sons — Rime Mulen and Lawi Mulen — were also absconding. It may be mentioned that on October 21 and 22, the group led by Darius Snieh came to the paddy house of Ms Bun Kam (Sariang) of Lumstong village and Stand Mukhim of Mookhnang village, Nongjngi Elaka and allegedly took 19 and 15 sacks of paddy respectively.
