Theft cases

One motorcycle (ML-05J-7556) which belongs to one Jayanta Hazarika was reported missing from Nongrimbah Laitumkhrah, on Friday morning. Matter is under enquiry.

On November 14, at around 6 pm, unknown miscreants stole one Maruti car (ML-04-2028) which belongs to Smt. Ralin Dhar from Amlarem, West Jaintia Hills.

On November 5 at night, unknown miscreants stole one wireless antenna worth Rs. 8,945 from SIB Office at Mahendraganj, West Garo Hills.

Murder

On November 15 aftrenoon, one unidentified male body (20/22 yrs) was recovered from GS Road at Sumer Ri-Bhoi. Cadaver has been sent to Civil Hospital Nongpoh for post mortem examination. The deceased is suspected to have been murdered by unknown miscreants. Matter is under enquiry.

Assault

On the evening of November 11, two people, one Wisterbor Basaiawmoit (19 yrs) and a minor (brother) aged (15 yrs) assaulted their father, one Eben Lyngdoh Nongbri (60 yrs) at Nongsohma West Khasi Hills. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was taken to Civil Hospital Shillong.

Immigrants and cattle seized

The BSF on Thursday, apprehended one Bangladeshi miscreant, Jahanur Hussian (35 years) from East Jaintia Hills while he was trying to pick a stone from India territory.

In another incident, during the intervening night of November 15 and 16, the BSF seized 17 cattle worth approximately Rs 1.29 lahks from East Khasi Hills, while it was being smuggled into Bangladesh.

Last week, the BSF had seized Cattle, wooden logs and other contraband items of an estimated cost of Rs 11.14 lakhs. The apprehended person and the seized items have been handed over to the concerned department for further disposal and legal action as per law of the land.
