SHILLONG: The police department has so far issued 1.20 lakh application forms to fill up 1200 posts of police constables.

“A total number of 1.20 lakh forms have already been issued. We have in fact issued around 40,000 forms during the last two days (Friday and Saturday),” Additional DGP BL Buam said here on Saturday.

He informed that the Department has already received around 50,000 forms duly filled up by the aspirants.

While starting that it is very encouraging to see that such a huge number of youths expressed their keenness to join the force, he said the application forms would be issued till November 21.

“A clear picture will emerge only after November 21 and then I would also be able to give the break-up on the number of male and female candidates,” ADGP said.

To avoid sale of application forms in black market, he informed that the department had put a condition that only one form would be issued to one candidate.

He urged people to immediately inform the police if they receive any information about selling of application forms in black.
