AICC leaders to visit M’laya

NEW DELHI: The AICC general secretary in-charge of Meghalaya Dr Dhaniram Shandil and Secretary Sanjay Bapna will be arriving in Shillong on a four-day visit to the state on Tuesday to oversee the party’s preparedness for the upcoming Assembly elections due in 2013.

The duo will hold a meeting with the members of the party’s State Coordination Committee on the same night.

On Wednesday the team will have a meeting with both Meghalaya Pradesh Election Committee and Rajiv Bhawan Construction Committee, AICC sources said here.

Dr Shandill and Bapna will attend a joint meeting of the Block Congress Committees of Mendipathar, Resubelpara and Bajenddoba at Mendipathar on Thursday

On the last day of their visit, the duo will have a meeting at Willamnagar from where they will leave for Guwahati on November 23, sources said. Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, MPCC chief D D Lapang, Shillong MP Vincent H Pala, all top leaders, office bearers, MLAs and Ministers will attend these meetings.
