TURA: The All Garo Hills Home Guards Personnel Association (AGHHGPA) in their recently held meeting have decided to embark on various agitational programmes if the concerned authorities fail to give a rational and realistic explanation regarding the non implementation of their revised wages.

AGHHGPA said that the State Government had given a directive to increase the amount of Duty Allowance and Washing Allowance paid to all Home Guard volunteers working under various departments in the State with effect from August 22, 2012.

However, till date, the directive has not been executed for the Home Guard volunteers working under the Forest Department (T) and MeECL, the Association stated.

AGHHGPA is demanding that the revised wages be brought into effect immediately for the Home Guard volunteers working under the two departments.

AGHHGPA said the concerned authorities should take the necessary steps to fulfill their demand failing which the Association would call for office picketing from December 3.
