SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Medical Services Association (MMSA) has rued the fact that vacant posts in the Health department have not been filled as yet.

In a letter submitted to the Commissioner and Secretary, Health and Family Welfare department, MMSA general secretary Dr A War expressed the Association’s concern over non-filling of posts in the department.

“The department appears to be in disarray due to non-fulfillment of higher posts in the Health department,” the letter added.

The Association stated that the posts of Directors of Health Services and Additional Directors of Health Service and specific posts in Grade-I have remained unfilled as yet.

“Even the post of Director of Health Service (MI) has remained vacant for almost two weeks now,” the letter added.

MMSA stated that this was affecting the smooth delivery of medi-care services in the State.
