Agartala: Bypassing all contentious issues, BJP president Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said the BJP led NDA would come to power in the next general elections.
Gadkari, who was speaking at a rally-Janajagaran Shamavesh near Sukanta Academy here, he exhorted people to stop giving support to both Congress and CPM to be part of the saffron party’s vision to change the country’s fortune.
Giving hint at BJP’s poll plank for the 2014 Lok Sabha election, he said the NDA would certainty storm back to the power by defeating the Congress UPA government. “War against the poverty is something what the party want to focus during the campaign for the 2014 election”, he said.
Hitting hard on the Congress, Gadkari said, “Indira Gandhi, Rajib Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi everyone placed slogans to remove poverty. Now I ask you all has the Congress removed poverty from the country?”
“Atal Bihari Vajpayee has ruled the country for 4 and a half years while Congress has been ruling since 57 years, now you people calculate the result of development,” he pointed out.
In Karnataka, the BJP led government provides electricity free of cost while in Madhya Pradesh people get loan with 0% of interest and in Chattisgarh people get loan with 1% of interest and electricity with very low expenditure, he said.
Gadkari, in his speech, wants to know what is the percentage of interest in which the government of Tripura provides loan 13% or 14% to poor farmers.
“Farmers are dying as neither CPM nor Congress is taking up their responsibility. The government should give top priority to boost the rural economy. There should be 24 hours electricity, 10 engineering colleges, 5 IIT, 5 polytechnic colleges and five medical colleges”, he said.
Branding the Congress as Maa-Beta-ka party (a party of mother and son) Gadkari claimed the BJP is the lone party belonging to party workers. “I was not born as son of MP or MLA but still hold the post which once held by stalwarts like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani”, he said.
Making an empathic call for joining the saffron party fold, Gadkari said the BJP led NDA will form next government at Delhi even if people of Tripura don’t’ give mandate in favour of BJP in the coming parliamentary election.
“The CPM will not be able to make a mark in the Delhi even if it wins two seats in Tripura”, he said.
BJP president also sharply criticized Congress for illegal migration in Assam. “The days are not far when a citizen of Bangladesh will become chief minister of Assam”, he said adding that the Northeastern region will have Broad Gauge (BG) facility if the BJP led NDA is voted to power.
“Leadership is very important to carry forward the development activities. You can donate eye but can’t donate vision”, Gadkari who arrived here on a whirlwind tour last night, added.
Besides Gadkari, BJP general secretary Ramjilal, party observer Surej Pujari and BJP state unit president Sudhindra Dasgupta also spoke in the rally
