One arrested for fraud

SHILLONG: A team of State police on Wednesday arrested one Bijoy Kumar Roy from Silchar for fraud.

According to police, he has duped people to a tune of Rs 2468669, adding he was absconding since first week of June. He was arrested on a tip off says Syiem.

The arrested person has a shop, Shreya Mobile In Bara Bazar and used take loans from people with a promise that he will return double the amount.

So far, the police has not been able to recover any amount, adding those people who have been duped by the Roy are urged to come out. He has been awarded ten days police custody.
