Nagaland students host NESO Conference in Kohima

Kohima: The 5th General Conference of North Eastern Students’ Organisation (NESO) would be held in Kohima at Naga Solidarity Park and Capital Convention Centre from November 27 to 30 under the auspices of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on the theme ‘Our resources – our future’, sources said today.

Naga Hoho President Keviletuo Kewhuo would grace the introductory session on November 27 as the Special Guest and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio as Chief Guest for the inaugural programme on November 28.

Birendra Prasad Baishya, the General Secretary, North East MPs Forum would be the guest of honour at the Valedictory Function on November 29 next.

The conference would highlight cultural exchange programme to exhibit amongst the eight-member organizations of NESO.

Besides, there would be interaction and panel discussion on social issues concerning NE Region such as ‘Impact of Illegal Migration of Foreigners to North East’ and ‘Redefining Education System in North East’ which would be facilitated by resource speakers from all member organizations. An update on ‘The Naga people’s search for peace and justice through reconciliation’ would also be presented by Dr Wati Aier, convenor, Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) at the conference. Election to the Executive Council of NESO for the term 2012-2015 would also be conducted with N S N Lotha, former Secretary General NESO as the returning officer. Representatives and students from the host unit along with NSF officials and its federating unit leaders would be participating in the four-day long programme. (UNI)
