SHILLONG: In the Last match of Group B at the Under-25 Inter District Cricket Tournament organized by Meghalaya Cricket Association, Ri-Bhoi Cricket Association defeated All Jaintia Cricket Association in a thrilling encounter by one wicket.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss Jaintia Hills were all out for 122 runs in their allotted 35 overs with Deibormi Rangad making 43 runs.
Akshay Singh claimed three wickets for 17 runs for Ri-Bhoi.
In reply Ri-Bhoi scored 124-9 in 32.5 overs with Joseph Lyngdoh top-scoring with 32.
Heiser Bareh and Jeff Lytting claimed three wickets each in their team’s losing cause.
Ri-Bhoi now progress to the semifinals where they will take on East Khasi Hills on Thursday.
East Khasi Hills have been the strongest team in Group A, having beaten both the Shillong Cricket Association team as well as West Khasi Hills in their group stage matches.
