NONGPOH: Refuting reports of dissent among the party workers over selection of candidate for Umsning constituency, Umsning Block Congress Committee (UBCC) chief C Kharkongor on Thursday said the party was ready to work for any one whoever gets the ticket.

Kharkongor’ statement came in light of the press statement issued by the Umsning Block Mahila Congress Committee (UBMCC) where it was stated the members of the Umsning Block Mahila Congress Committee (UBMCC), the District Mahila Congress Committee and the Umsning Youth Assembly Congress Committee would resign en masse if the party allots ticket to Nongpoh MDC Dr Celestine Lyngdoh instead of Donlang Sohkhlet.

The UBCC chief also clarified that another ticket contender Dipul Ryntathiang is the secretary of UBCC nor president as reported earlier.

He said, “The party is intact and united under my leadership.”
