SHILLONG: In view of the recent revelation of the CBI reports on appointment of school teachers, the UDP Shillong city district general council on Saturday demanded the state government to declare the whole selection and appointment null and void and conduct fresh appointment based on original results stating that it would do justice not only to the legal system and the investigating machinery but also to deserving candidates.

Briefing the press after the meeting held in the city here on Saturday, UDP Shillong city district general secretary Allan Dkhar said the council is aghast over the startling revelation of CBI reports.

“What is more shocking is the protection given by the government to the name of Ampareen Lyngdoh indicted by the CBI and the unexpected statement by the chief minister himself who claims of transparency when he questioned about leakage of reports to the media”, Dkhar said.
