Information centre
A Tourist information centre (TIC) located at Mawkdok, midway to Cherrapunjee will be inaugurated by Parliamentary secretary incharge of Tourism Dr PW Khongjee on December 7.
Airport service
The Shillong Municipal Board will introduce the airport shuttle between Shillong and Guwahati airport on December 7. Altogether six tata wingers will ply between Shillong and LGBI airport at 6 am and 9 am daily.
Disability day
Badhte Kadam IV cum World Disability Day was observed on Monday at Fatima Dispensary Nongkasen in collaboration with WETSPAD where local MLA Dr A Pariong was the chief guest.
Ialong Project
The Ialong Rural Tourism Project sanctioned by the ministry of Tourism, government of India though the district administration of West Jaintia Hills and department of Tourism and run by the tourism promotion society and Durbar Shnong Ialong will be inaugurated on December 6 at Ialong Park at 11am by chief secretary WMS Pariat.
Recruitment
The central recruitment board will not conduct recruitment tests on December 12 and 18 being state holidays. The candidates who have been previously allotted December 12 and 18 are shifted and re-allotted the dates to December 20 for candidates allotted on December 12 of Mawiong centre, December 19 for candidates of Goeragre centre, December 21 for candidates allotted for December 18 of Mawiong centre and December 20 for candidates of Goeragre centre.
Convocation
The 1st convocation of NIFT Shillong Centre will be held on December 10 at 3pm at the convocation Hall, NEHU Campus.
Body found
One unidentified male dead body was found hanging with a multi colored check shirt and green belt tied together at Umphyrnai. In the event of identifying, citizens are requested to contact O/C Madanrting police station by dialing 0364 2231408 and PCR at 0364 2222277.
Community centre
Urban Affairs Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh on Tuesday inaugurated the community centre and public Convenience at Keating Road. Residents of the area were also present during the inaugural function.
