Base laid for Science stream at Maharam Govt College

SHILLONG: Education Minister Prof RC Laloo on Wednesday laid the base for the ten-plus-two Science Stream at an estimated cost of Rs one crore at Maharam Government Secondary School, Mawkyrwat, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister in charge Health and Family Welfare, Rowell Lyngdoh, who is also the local MLA of Mawkyrwat.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Laloo informed that the State Government is processing to implement the Right to Education Act, and added that a District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) centre at Mawkyrwat is in the pipe line. With regards to upgradation of the Sngap Syiem College, the Minister informed that it would be done according to rules and regulations of the Government.

Earlier, Lyngdoh inaugurated the multipurpose auditorium of the School and said that the Auditorium can be used for various purposes for the benefit of the school and the students.
