Pop superstar Lady Gaga is teaming up with United Nations officials to help em power youths across the world. The 26-year-old Born This Way hitmaker began her work for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) when she stopped by a centre for at-risk and abandoned kids during a break from her tour of South Africa.

She documented the trip in a series of photos and shared the images with fans via her Twitter page as she announced her new collaboration. “On Dec 1 I visited Isibindi Safe Park in Naledi to speak with the children about Youth Empowerment on behalf of UN/UNICEF. Teaming with the United Nations I can continue breeding our Born This Way message of compassion,” Gaga posted. Gaga plans to set up a dedicated section to the initiative on her LittleMonsters.com fansite to keep followers updated on her progress. The singer is not the only star currently working with UNICEF. Selena Gomez serves as an ambassador for the organisation, while Chloe Grace Moretz recently fronted its annual Halloween campaign, which encourages American kids to make a difference to the lives of youngsters in poorer countries.
