SHILLONG: At the 4th Asia Intercontinental Championship, held in New Delhi on November 21-25, Krishna Chandra Rabha and K Thauna Singh, members of the Goju Ryu Karate-Do Association of Meghalaya, came away with medals.

Rabha won gold in the 55-60kg category kata and took a bronze in the kumite, while Singh claimed bronze in the 50-55kg category kata.

Goju ryu karate is one of the traditional forms of karate practised on the Japanese island of Okinawa. Goju ryu means “hard-soft style” in Japanese.
