SHILLONG: With an aim to promote music along with local art and culture, the East Jaintia Hills District Administration will organize a mega musical show titled ‘Symphony’ at Don Bosco field in Khliehriat on December 21.

This would be a first of its kind event after the inauguration of the new district and is aimed at promoting music as an art form as well as profession in the area.

Music, as the organisers put it, is mostly looked upon as a form of entertainment but this event and further such efforts in future will be a series of sustained effort to promote music and local art & culture in enriching local culture.

A host of local talents from across the state will feature in the programme which according to the organizers is a part of a series of sustained efforts directed towards promotion of music and local art and culture of the district.

The groups invited to perform are upcoming bands and performers. Bands like the Colours, Strait Brothers and a host of other renowned performers will feature in the event which also looks to highlight the tourism potential of the district.
