Registration of migrant workers demanded

SHILLONG: The FKJGP Nongthymmai Circle has taken a serious note of illegal migrants in and around Nongthymmai area.

FKJGP Nongthymmai Circle information secretary Cornelius Lapasam said that the FKJGP is well aware of the danger posed by migrants from outside the State as well as those with doubtful origins working and residing in the area.

He informed that the Federation has decided to give a month’s time to all the business establishments in and around Nongthymmai area to get the documents of their workers completed, after which the FKJGP Nongthymmai Circle will conduct a spot verification of their credentials.
