SHILLONG: Transport Minister AT Mondal on Thursday assured the employees of Meghalaya Transport Corporation that pending salary of some months will be released before the upcoming festive season.
Earlier, while replying to a question by Conrad Sangma (NCP), the Transport Minister said that pending salaries of the employees will be paid as and when the fund is available.
However, when Conrad conveyed to the House the sufferings of the employees and their families who are affected due to the delay in the release of salary, Mondal assured that the pending salaries will be released at the earliest.
Sangma pointed out that it is unfortunate that for the last five months, the department could not release the salary resulting in undue financial hardships to the employees.
