SHILLONG: Continuing the activities of the Shillong Games 2012, organised by the Shillong Sports Association, the Women’s Football Tournament kicked off on Thursday. A single round robin stage will be held, where the two top teams shall play in the final to decide the champion and the runners-up.
In the match played on Thursday, Malki SC beat Lummawbah SC 4-0. Morda Khongsit opened the account for Malki in the 18th minute and I Nongbet, Eva Marbaniang and Baiahunlang scored in the 22nd, 39th and 43rd minutes respectively. Both teams played attacking football, but it was Malki who had the better of the two to earn full points from the match.
Friday will see Lawsohtun play Malki at 11:00am and Pynthorbah play Lummawbah at 1:00pm.
