MoU signed with a focus on inclusive and sustainablegrowth

SHILLONG: The State Government on Friday signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) – National Botanical Research Institution (NBRI), Lucknow with an aim to develop a centre of excellence as a joint initiative to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth of North East region and Meghalaya in particular.

The foundation stone of synergistic association of CSIR-NBRI and Meghalaya Basin Development Authority (MBDA) which was laid down here on Friday in the presence of Forest Minister Prestone Tynsong and chief secretary WMS Pariat was conceptualized to provide a platform for upliftment of the socioeconomic strata of the state. The CSIR technologies would be made available to the people of Meghalaya with an aim to improve their quality of lives.
