SHILLONG: A delegation of the Meghalaya College Teachers’ Association (MCTA) met NEHU Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof AN Rai recently to discuss the issues relating to the Semester System at the Under Graduate level.

Led by its President BH Buam, the delegation submitted a memorandum to Prof Rai to bring to his attention problems like unfavourable student-teacher ratio, inadequate infrastructure facilities in colleges and rigid subject combinations offered to students besides discussing issues relating to assessment and evaluation before the implementation of the semester system.

Stressing on the urgency of the issue, the delegation urged the VC to look into the matter in order to make the new system operationally effective and beneficial for the students.
