SHILLONG: Cell one users in the State had a harrowing time on Sunday as the subscribers faced difficulty in contacting their near and dear ones since morning.

Aggrieved subscribers called up newspaper offices to register their protest and to convey that if the BSNL failed to provide better service, they would be compelled to quit using its services. “I wanted to call up my relatives to know the well being of my ailing mother, but could not reach them”, a subscriber said.

Though the defect was rectified on Sunday night, there was still intermittent disruption of the service.

The BSNL officials were not available for comments.
