BSNL clarifies on poor service

SHILLONG: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited on Tuesday said that the interruption in the services on Sunday occurred due to digging by PHE department near Aurobindo Ashram and Polo Bazar.

Cell one users in the State had a harrowing time on Sunday as the subscribers faced difficulty in contacting their near and dear ones since morning.

In a statement issued here, BSNL, GMTD Additional General Manager said due to digging in two places, optical fibre cable of BSNL were badly cut and damaged. “However prompt action for restoration was taken and services were restored at the earliest,” the statement added.
