SHILLONG: The Mandal executive meeting of BJP Nartiang Unit was held at Waijer recently, presided over by the Mandal president of Nartiang, Socrates Phawa.
State BJP president HS Syiemlieh, general secretary Dipayan Chakraborty, State Mahila Morcha president Nisha Syiemiong and others attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed at length the ideology of the party and asked the members to reach out to the last man in the constituency.
Citing the example of Goa, Syiemlieh said that the Christian population in Goa has supported the BJP because they are convinced that the party can bring in development in Goa.
He said that eight of the party’s MLAs belong to the Christian faith and they won from Christian dominated areas in Goa.
Among others who spoke at the meeting included the party’s candidate from Nartiang, Veecare Nicia Lamare.
