The incidents of rape are common phenomena all over our country now. Let us not forget the number of rapes that have taken place in the last few years which are as heinous as what is taking place right now. Those reported are in the daily news and many more take place undocumented. While Delhi screams at the terrible incident we join hands with them in solidarity. The rape of a 18 year old girl in Garo Hills by teenaged boys has led to equally strong protests and also for capital punishment to the perpetrators.
We condemn sexual violence and assault on women and join hands with all those who have demanded fast track court jurisdiction in the State. (North East Network)
