Pre-christmas programme

 SHILLONG: The Meghalaya Youth Foundation in collaboration with the Dorbar Shnong Laitkor (Rngi) conducted a Pre-Christmas Programme at Laitkor (Rngi), East Khasi Hills District on December 22.

More than 450 children and residents of Laitkor took part in the day-long programme. Children from the 3 Anganwadi Centres of Laitkor (Rngi) participated in the programmes at the event which included games and sports of various types and kind.

Those present at the opening ceremony included the Rangbah Shnong, Stenis Pyngrope, Chairman of the Meghalaya Youth Foundation, Joannes JTL Lamare, Secretary Shnong of Laikor (Rngi), members of the Seng Kynthei, members of the Youth Club, the general public, the teachers, parents of the children besides others.

A prize distribution programme was also conducted followed by distribution of clothes among the residents of the locality.

Speaking at the function, the Rangbah Shnong said that such a programme was the first of its kind and he hoped that in the years to come, events as such will only grow bigger.
