New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday said it would raise the issues of “price-rise, unemployment, foreign direct investment (FDI) in retail trade and anti-poor policies of the Congress-led UPA” during upcoming Assembly polls in nine states including Meghalaya scheduled for this year.

The party said it has started preparations at “war footing” for upcoming Assembly elections in nine states.

“Due to corruption and scams of the Central government, the country has come on the path of borrowing from liberalism (Udharwad from Udarwad),” BJP national vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He said in the meeting of the party’s central election management and co-ordination committee held today at the party headquarters here, review and discussions were held in regard to elections scheduled to be held in Karnataka, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.

He said Assembly elections for nine states to be held this year are important and electoral preparations have already commenced at booth level.

Mr Naqvi said state and Central leaders of the party have been extending co-operation to workers in making preparations for elections in all these states and were also making a review of them. (UNI)
