Guwahati: Assam Congress leader Bikramsing Brahma, accused in a rape case, was on Friday sent to 14 days’ judicial custody by a Kokrajhar court in Bodoland Territorial Autonomous Districts (BTAD).

The court remanded Mr Brahma in judicial custody after he was produced in connection with a rape case, registered on Thursday.

Mr Brahma, formerly a chief coordinator of the Congress in Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), was on Thursday arrested on rape charges in Salabari in Chirang district. Police said Mr Brahma was arrested based on a complaint by the husband of the victim.
