Editor,
The world has witnessed vigorous and massive public protest over the recent death of a Delhi gang rape victim, who was a brave young woman of 23 but whose name has been concealed from the public like it is done in the communist countries. Thanks to the electronic and printed media persons!
“How blessed are those who mourn, because it is they who will be comforted!” said Jesus of Nazareth two thousand years ago. That wise saying applies to us today. After the flames of the unknown Indian woman’s funeral pyre go out, turning her body into ash, let’s not go back to our comfort zones but let the flame sparked in our minds and hearts continue to inspire us in this New Year to think of legitimate and practical ways of making Delhi in particular and India in general, a rape-free city and a rape-free country, respectively. Let’s not think irrationally and demand in vain for the quick death of the rapists by defying the law of the land. Let the law take its own time. Instead of being impulsive and sentimental, let’s coolly apply our minds together and find ways and means to defeat the evil designs of the wicked rapists roaming freely on the streets of Delhi and of the other parts of India!

New Year’s eve celebration
Editor,
As I was passing by on 31st night outside the Talent’s Club (near the Governor’s residence) I suddenly heard an angry shout and saw a Maruti Alto being torn apart ie searched by SOT personnel. The number of their car was ML 02 0199. The violence of the moment was quite disarming and upset me somewhat. I would like Vivek Syiem or whoever is in charge of the SOT to kindly answer a few questions
1. Is it common practice for SOT personnel to do such things?
2. Were the occupants of the alto GNLA, HNLC cadre or simply people who wanted to stop near there if only for a drink?
I look forward to your answer. If the person(s) who were in the Alto are reading this and something unlawful did happen please speak out as well.
Yours etc.,
