SHILLONG: MPCC president DD Lapang on Monday said that he felt sad for those aspiring candidates who did not get the party tickets, while stating that there were many contenders for a single seat.

According to Lapang, the list was scrutinized at various levels and final decision was arrived at by the AICC.

With resentment surfacing on the allotment of Congress tickets, the MPCC president said that it was too early to assess whether this will affect the prospects of the party in the election.

“It is too early to assess the poll prospects,” Lapang said when asked about his comments on the Congress list of candidates.
