Appeal

The Forest Department Wildlife Wing has expressed concern over the recent killings of wild animals inside Nongkhyllem and other areas outside Government reserves. The Divisional Forest Officer, Khasi Hills Wildlife Division, PS Nongbri, has appealed to all to stop killing of wild animals and birds as they are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.

Festival

The Aroha Choir will organize food festival, games, karaoke and jumble sale on January 11 at the All Saint’s Cathedral Hall from 11 am.

Appointment

The Excise, Registration, Taxation and Stamps (ERTS) Department on Tuesday announced that 23 Inspectors of Excise have been appointed and are scheduled to undergo training at the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute from Jan 23.

Public meeting

The DC (Supply), East Garo Hills has informed the general public of Williamnagar town area that a meeting will be held on January 11 at the DRDA Hall-1, Williamnagar at 11 am in connection with non-functioning of the LPG agency.

Training camp

A State-level adventure training camp, organised by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Jowai, and hosted by the Arcadian Nature-Sports Guild (ANG), Shangpung, is being held at Shangpung, West Jaintia Hills District. Comingone Ymbon, MLA and Parliamentary Secretary inaugurated the camp. The six-day camp from January 7 – 12 is being attended by 25 participants from different districts of the State.

Office bearers

The Synjuk War Wahlong recently elected new office bearers for the current year with TB War as president, PS Dkhar as vice president and S Khongshei as general secretary, besides other executive members.
