SHILLONG: A delegation comprising members from several women’s organizations on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, DGP Kulbir Krishna and the Principal Secretary (Home) KS Kropha with some suggestions to make Meghalaya a safer place for women and children. The delegation held an extensive discussion with the DGP on the role of police in cases of sexual violence.

The delegation urged the Chief Minister to appoint a new Women’s Commission chairperson.
