NONGTOIN: Dissidence is growing in the Congress party in Nongstoin constituency over the allocation of ticket to Dr Advisor Pariong.

Majority of the Congress leaders in Nongstoin have expressed shock at the AICC’s decision of awarding the party ticket to Dr Pariong. They have question how Dr Pariong, who is the current vice president of the HSPDP (central body), be given a Congress ticket since he had not yet tendered his resignation from the HSPDP.

It may be added here that during the earlier voting for selection of the ticket nominee in the presence of MPCC members, all the Congress ticket aspirants had warned that if the ticket was allotted to any other person, they would abandon the party.

SL Lyngdoh, a Congress leader of Nongstoin, informed that they would hold a meeting in Nongstoin on Saturday to decide on whether to support UDP’s Nassar Marwein or HSPDP supremo Hopingstone Lyngdoh, as according to him ‘maintaining ties with the Congress was both useless and hopeless’.
