United XI down NFU by 30 runs

SHILLONG: United XI defeated NFU by 30 runs in the Super Division Shillong Cricket League, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, United XI posted a large total, scoring 221-6 in 40 overs.

Asa Warjri starred for United, scoring 94 off 93 balls while Bishen Thapa scored 47 runs.

In reply, NFU were restricted to 191 for nine wickets in 36 overs.

In a losing cause, Raj Biswa came through with a century; he scored 120 runs of 102 balls, while Bishen and Prakash took three wickets each.

Meanwhile, in the B Division, Zephyr defeated Youth Club by 41 runs.

Batting first, Zephyr scored 156-6 in 20 overs.

Robert scored 45, while Deepak Chettri took two wickets. In reply Youth Club were all out for 110 runs.

Deepak Chettri scored 28 and Sagar 30 runs while Kunal took three wickets.

In the second game of the day, Polo XI defeated Azad Hind by six wickets.

Azad Hind made 165-5 in 20 overs batting first with Suman scoring 57.

Polo XI then scored 166 runs for four wickets in 18.4 overs to claim victory. Danish scored 32, while Akhil took 2 wickets.
