SHILLONG: The breakaway faction of the A’chik National Volunteer Council (ANVC-B) has said that the State Government is losing revenue worth crores of rupees from coal trade due to the nexus between the traders and corrupt government officials.

ANVC-B chairman Rimpu Marak alleged that a huge amount of coal that goes out from the State is unaccounted for and almost one-third of the total volume of the export business has been gobbled up by certain politicians and government officials.

According to the outfit, the coal traders do not pay taxes to the District Council and export far greater volume of coal than what they show on record.

He added that the outfit will take up the matter with the State Government.
