Aparajita win tight game

SHILLONG: Aparajita defeated Lumpyngad by a mere seven runs in the First Division of the Shillong Cricket League, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds.

Lumpyngad won the toss and elected to field first. Aparajita were then bowled out for just 122 in 32.4 overs. Manish Haldar top-scored with 22 runs, while Barry Rymbai claimed four wickets.

Although they were only chasing a small target, in reply, Lumpyngad were bundled out for 115 in 31.2 overs. Suraj Chettri made the best of it, scoring 15, while Arup Das was responsible for taking four wickets.

Meanwhile in the B Division, Laban SCC defeated Dishari by eight wickets to register their third consecutive victory.

Batting first, Dishari made 151-9 in 20 overs. Bikash scored 42 runs and Devojit 30 runs, while Banteilang Rynjah bagged four wickets.

In reply, Laban scored 153 for the loss of just two wickets in 16 overs.

The top-scorer was Manish with 68 off 58 balls and he was ably supported by a brilliant 54 from just 30 balls by Mark Laloo, who was also celebrating his birthday.
