Headmistress duped

Bijoya Hajong, headmistress of Harigaon Upper Primary School lodged a complaint at Tura police station recently that her salary dues amounting to Rs. 84,000 was not paid since the year 2011. However, the secretary of the Managing Committee of school paid her only Rs. 28,000/-. Further, the secretary along with members of the Managing Committee abused and threatened her with dire consequences.

Assault

On January 15 at about 7.15 am, miscreants assaulted Matrius Synnah at Knor Syiem (WJH). As a result, the victim sustained injuries and shifted to Civil Hospital, Jowai and later referred to Civil Hospital, Shillong, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Counter FIR

Irene Hujon of CSWO and other members lodged a complaint at Shillong Sadar police station that on January 15 around 11.10 am, while the members of CSWO assembled at CTO parking lot, in support of the agitation called by Association of Qualified Grade-IV Candidates 2011, police personnel on duty, manhandled the female protesters including Christabel Wanniang, GS, CSWO and Trikshon Nongsiej, who sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital.

Injured

On January 10 around 5 am, one truck (ML-08A-6819) driven by Akidul Islam fatally knocked down Jolesh Sangma at Damalgre (WGH). A criminal case has been registered.

Body found

On January 3, Ganesh Subba (63) was found lying at Bara Bazar, Shillong. He was shifted to Civil Hospital where he died on January 18.

Pipes stolen

M Shylla, Junior Engineer, PHE, Jowai lodged a complaint at Jowai police station that during inspection on January 3, twelve numbers of 50mm GI pipes were found missing from the site of Thadmukoh Water Supply Scheme (WJH)
