SHILLONG: Madanryting CC defeated Keating Road CC by four wickets in a First Division match of the Shillong Cricket League, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, at Polo Grounds.
Keating Road won the toss and elected to bat first. They then scored 214 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 35 overs. Syed Salman scored 45 runs while Ganesh Sahani scored 44 off just 40 balls. Ajay Kumar took three wickets.
Kumar then scored a half-century to go along with his fine bowling performance. Madanryting completed the chase with time to spare as they made 216-6 in 33.5 overs. Kumar scored 53 off 48 balls and Sanbor Kharbuli scored 44. In another good all-round effort, Keating Road’s Sahani took two wickets in addition to his innings of 44.
Super Division final
Meanwhile, the final of the Super Division will be played on Thursday between defending champions United XI and New Friends Union (NFU) at 9am.
