SHILLONG: The breakaway faction of the ANVC on Saturday said the outfit is in the process of surrendering their arms following the draft peace agreement signed between the outfit and the government.

ANVC-B chairman Rimpu Marak on Friday informed The Shillong Times that the outfit would submit all weapons very soon.

State Chief Secretary WMS Pariat had earlier stated that the agreement is applicable to the breakaway faction (ANVC-B) and they need to surrender their arms and weapons.

Marak also informed that the movement of ANVC-B cadres is presently restricted.

Meanwhile, in an e-mail sent to media persons, the ANVC-B said it was preparing a list of its cadres to be submitted to the government and was awaiting the state-level meeting to discuss necessary formalities.

“We are waiting for the Memorandum of Settlement (MoS) to be signed after the election,” the e-mail added.
