Rape

A man was arrested for raping his daughter in a village in Ri-Bhoi after the complaint in this regard was lodged by his wife.

According to police, the woman lodged a complaint at Mawlasnai outpost that on December 31 last and on January 13, her husband identified as Sebastian Shadap (30 ) raped her daughter at Umtngam village in R-Bhoi. Police arrested the accused.

Cheating case

Romat Sangma lodged a complaint at Williamnagar police station that in the month of June 2012, three persons, Sanjib Choudhury, Joydeep Choudhury and Jivan Rabha cheated him of Rs. 2,15,000 with a promise to deliver a Tata Winger vehicle.

Body recovered

On January 31 around 7 am, one unidentified male body was recovered from Iaw Raja, Wapung-Mukhaialong Road in East Jaintia Hills.

Necessary formalities have been observed.

Assault

Rajeev Kumar Sinha, Manager of BSC-C & C JV, (a company undertaking road construction) at Samanda lodged a complaint at Williamnagar police station that on the nights of January 27 and 28, around 10 miscreants went to the labour camp of the company at Megapgre in East Garo Hills and assaulted the labourers.

They also snatched cell phones, cash and personal belongings from the victims.
