SRT expresses concern over rape cases

SHILLONG: The Syngkhong Rympei Thymmai (SRT) has expressed deep concern over “the alarming rise” of rape cases and other crimes against women as reported in the country and in Meghalaya in particular . In its meeting here on February 2, the SRT has condemned in the strongest term possible on the growing incidents of sexual assaults and other crimes against women particularly in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills districts “of our otherwise God-fearing tribal community.”
