SHILLONG: The UDP has sought the intervention of Chief Electoral Officer P. Naik into the partial restriction imposed on the supporters of UDP during the filing of nominations by the party candidates at Nongpoh on Tuesday.

In a letter addressed to Naik, the UDP secretary AF Dkhar said while restrictions were imposed on the UDP motorcade, others were exempted from this.

“Such practices should be discouraged and the model code of conduct should be applied without fear or favour”, Dkhar said.
