SHILLONG: Meghalaya State NCP general secretary Constantine N Thma said that the party candidate from Shillong South, Sanbor Shullai has completed his BA 1st year.
The affidavit of Shullai filed before the East Khasi Hills returning officer had mentioned that the candidate was a matriculate.
However, in a statement issued here on Thursday, Thma, said that due to a mistake on their part, the document submitted along with the nomination paper was of matriculation certificate.
Reacting to news report regarding the affidavit, Thma also said that Shullai has a valid license for the .32 bore pistol he owned.
An election official said that the candidates had been asked to deposit only licensed weapons which they owned as nobody can possess illegal weapons.
